Tommy, the EF 24mm f/1.4 L USM is really great. I don't know how that 28mm compares to it, but it can't be better. Sure, the 24L is not as sharp wide open as my EF 200mm f/2.8 L USM, but it is much better than the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. If you are considering the EF 28mm f/1.8, I'd also check out the SigMa 30mm f/1.4, which is a surprisingly neat lens.
